A day in the life of Sweet Juicy Balloons…..
Sunday (yes we work when we’re needed)
6.30am check and answer emails
7.00am Finish making 14 organza bows in 7 different colours. They must be perfect for the Bat Mitzvah this afternoon.
8.00am Breakfast and relax
11.00am Start filling balloons with helium, making sure that they are all exactly the same size and worrying a little bit about how hot it is outside. I know that if they touch the outside of the delivery van in this hot Perth (Western Australia) sun, they will burst. If we can get them into the van without touching the outsides, we are fine.
11.30pm Start styling the balloons. Tali, the adorable twelve year old who’s having the Bat Mitzvah this afternoon, has chosen seven different colours for the balloons with contrasting colours for organza bows, but mixed up… So a pink balloon with a canary yellow bows, a purple balloon with a bright orange bow… We have been given instructions that nothing can look wedding-y so we have chosen different colours that are young, funky and vibrant. Perfect for a 12 year old..
We attach the 3m gold tassels to the balloons and they immediately look amazing. Then we carefully tie the organza bows to the neck of the balloons.
12.30pm We are ready to transport our balloons to Royal Perth Yacht Club where the event will be held. This is the tricky part but our van is perfect for it.
1pm We arrive at RPYC and head upstairs to the beautiful dining room which overlooks the Swan River and beyond to the city of Perth. The room is buzzing with people setting tables, the DJ setting up and the family making sure that everything is perfect for the event.
We carry up our balloons one by one and set them up as centrepieces on the tables.
2.30pm The balloons are perfect, the room looks stunning and there is one 12 year old beaming from ear to ear.
We wish the family an amazing evening and part for the day….
Just another sweet juicy day. We are in the business of making people happy and that feels really good.
